A Pea in the XL Pod/ Maternity Chic for the plus size #3

Maternity Hack for Plus Size #3

MAKE SHAPES

Gabby wrote about this line that is from (GASP) Walmart the other day here.
I can count on my hand the times I have shopped at Walmart but the price and the the shape got me lusting after this shirt.
The
Norma Kamali - Maternity Jersey Kimono Top seriously fits like a dream on me.
The above photos are not so great- I used a timer setting and am NO photog- but look at the shape! The shape is key.

Shape is very important to dressing your body.
Use beautiful shapes to show off your curves.
Balance out form fitting tops with looser skirts this hot summer season.
Don't try and take the focus off the big belly- FOCUS on it!
Form fitted is not scary! (Repeat several times)

COME ON! 14.00 dollars for this shirt!
It feels great and I cannot believe it is from the big W.
I know I am against buying much this time around (because it is the LAST)
BUT> I think I can wear this after the baby FOR REAL.
I spend 14.00 on useless crap every time I walk into Target. YO!

I am pairing it with a 2003 Target Liz Lange skirt and fun shoes for a day look and thinking about how I could make this look really chic for a evening wedding I have this month with a black skirt and heels. Versatile. Truly.

Like clockwork-bang bang tight tight.

As soon as Fall comes I think of nothing but blunt bangs and black tights.
I am so predictable.

"When I seduce you, if I decide to seduce you, don't worry, you'll know."

I think this weekend I will introduce my town to the lady with the crazy big ass hat. My friends made a bit of fun of me in Florida with this hat. It was actually a gift for my friend Jenny. (who I think was secretly glad that the hat was too big for her noggin) I like it. Just like I love my zebra coat and other eccentric things I wear. I know when I am an old woman I will wear way more than purple.

"By all means move at a glacial pace. You know how that thrills me. "

I am looking for a tuxedo shirt like this one.
I have a tux style shirt and I wear it out, but I want like a man's old school vintage one to rock.
Like Tony Clifton would wear.
I want a flower on it like in the picture and I want to wear it open and show a little skin.
It is my hunt. I think the thrift shop is where I will start. I would like it in a ridiculous color too. I thought it would be simple to find photos of sexy ladies sporting these old vintage shirts for dress up nights. You know for inspiration...
I searched flickr and really didn't find too much.
I shall start the trend. Just like I started the trend of cutting off my Chuck Taylor's before they even made low styles. Yeah and I did.
In Logan, Ohio.

Love is sweet misery

I am sad. I forgot to tell Father Christmas I wanted a Brixton hat.
I am a hat girl. You are either a hat girl or you are not.
I am not talking brrr it is cold outside pull on a toboggan kind of girl. I am talking plan an outfit for a proper night out on the town hat girl. That is me. I wear them well.

And here it is two days till Christmas and I forgot that I really did want something.

And I haven't even been that good.
I have been kinda naughty actually.

There is no hope for me.
Unless granny gives me cash.

well they say the sky's the limit/and to me that's really true

I love me some
anthropologie.
I wonder if they freaking love how much blogs chat about them. They really have it though. The whole package. My heart picks up pace when I walk through those large doors. Don't yrs?

I get that feeling (that of kinda too much stimuli but go a head and give it to me) feeling
small shudders of lust

Anyhoo. I like some of the new stuff online. I like it if we were a dress up family for Thanksgiving.
We are not.
I like this little lass.
I love a head wrap for particularly
mischievous days.

You’re so pretty the way you are

I have not bought my children clothing all year.
It rocks. I love handmedowns.
I have not bought clothing for myself all year with exception of a couple T's at Target and that cute dress from Nordies that I ended up not even wearing.

I miss shopping so much, but being on a budget does not allow for it just right now.
Joe and I both need new undies though. How does it come to the place where the only decent knickers you have are those uber silly-fancy-pants-get-lucky knickers that you really do not want to wear to a meeting or preschool drop off? I swear. And my bras? Oh mercy. I promise you that I have taken to wearing a particular black bra that is yes, an old nursing bra bc it is much nicer than my daily bras. It is wretched. So we will go get some new undergarments this week and it will feel so liberating to shop!

I pretend shop all the time on my computer. Just this morning at some ungodly hour I was checking out a new blog I like and found these gorgeous dresses. Those who knew me in the day can attest that I would have rocked these frocks. I will never be small, but I do have pretty decent legs when at reasonable weight. I was a school jumper when a jumper wasn't cool. I was a mini in the days of hippie long skirts. I was a black opaque tight girl from birth. Oh I love these dresses.
I pretended that I bought all of them and packed them in my LV Speedy and raced out the door to catch a flight to somewhere fabulous. Then I made coffee and played Thomas the Tank Engine until I wanted to bash my head against the smooth wooden track.

Through the years you've never let me down

It was cold enough to break out my lil baby today. My two dollar coat I got at a thrifty store many years ago. It has been all over the place and always makes me feel good. I plan on wearing it to the post office today and to other such errands.

I am teaching Finn random foreign words like bella and fili. That way he can greet me in the morning and tell me how lovely I look and ask for a kiss in Greek. I told him ladies will pull sweets from their handbags if you tell them how lovely they are. I am so naughty! But, twice this week he has complimented older woman and one gave him a quarter and one a lollipop at the copy shop. He is going to be dashing when he grows up like his dad.

I think we are going to learn how to say some French words today. I can still read a bit of French from my long ago studies, but can't speak it. I hate how the brain when fat and lazy loses information. Like I also used to know how to say "Please take off yr dress" in Russian and I just can't for the life of me remember anymore...

P.S. Mama's Village is writing again. I love her!
