of carports and time that goes so very fast

Three years back we were going to make our carport a garage. I held little Blaise as a baby and looked out our kitchen window and planned a tiny room of my own for that garage. I thought Joe would have a wood burning stove in the back and an old boom box in the corner. We planned and planned and could not wait to make this happen. Do you know the first Winter Joe made Little Alouette toys outside in the carport before we got a workshop. It was brutal.
Well, you know how it is...Time and money. Dude.

I am sure our neighbors got sick of it and it did look horrid and I'm not even mad that someone most likely called and complained that we have a half assed finished garage project eyesore. I am not mad that these people had no idea that we wanted to finish it but the money always went to something else or we were too busy being artists to think about the important things. I am not mad. We got a nice little note on our door this summer that informed us that we needed to work it out or else. Well. We did.
I am not mad.
I am actually really happy that Hamilton Parker offered to install a garage door for us.
OVER THE MOON.
I am really happy that I can work with a local company who wants me to share some information about the process and I get to share some information about an amazing 75 year old local company.
I am really happy and lucky that HP likes me as a blogger and a writer and wants to help us have a garage that looks great.

I will soon have a little room inside of it for me. {finally}
A tiny office for me.
Joe will soon have a corner for his thoughts too. {finally}
I can't wait.
I can't wait to share it with you.

I can't wait to see the finished project. So excited for you. And thanks for the Hamilton-Parker referral. I had no idea there was a brick showroom in central Ohio. I'm trying to find a close match for existing mid-century brick.
