"On Writing" is an amazing little book. I have tucked it in baskets and bags and carried it around all summer. I have renewed it over and over and want to steal it from the library.
-to Arthur Mizener
" I believe that basically you write for two people; yourself to try to make it absolutely perfect; or if not that then wonderful. Then you write for who you love whether she can read or write or not and whether she is alive or dead."

I love his letters, especially to Fitzgerald. They remind me of blogging. I'm going to stop by your house someday and pick you up for a pilgrimage to his house Key West, it's a plan.
love that quote!
I did my senior thesis on Hemingway and ran with the bulls the summer after graduating from College. To say he's one of my favorites is an understatement!
*heart pang*
