I was like an ass kicking homeschooler yesterday.
So we studied Greek Gods yesterday.
Like all day.
I am amazed at how much I learned or relearned.
I love myth and I am so happy to share it with the boys.
The silver age got me- to be a child for 100 years? oooo.
And the tale of Demeter.
And all about Eros.
And the Gorgons.
The tale of Achilles.
And all of it.
It's just so cool we get to blow our kid's minds with new information.
Blaise wants to see a hell hound and Finnian has worn a toga for 24 hours.
That's learning.

this is so cool. i admire you, because i could never homeschool, but would love to. drooling over the little teepee in the background as well.
may i attend your school please? even just for a day?
I love it when children lead learning.
The first picture of the boys in togas is delightful!
Awesome photos! Our favorites are Poseidon and Ares and boy when they get together I have to leave the house.
You're like an ass-kicking homeschooler every day, just by being you!
This is the kind of learning all kids should have the opportunity to be exposed to - passionate, fun and personal!
I'm jealous I can't homeschool my kids!
Do you have D'Aulaires reek Mythology book? I bought it before I had kids in anticipation of someday reading it to them. Maybe it's time...
As if I couldn't love you anymore--BLAMMO you write this charming postie.
I think this might be my favorite post in the universe because greek gods totally kick ass. Your post singlehandedly made me want to home school mah girlie.
I don't think I have it in me to homeschool, but dang. These pictures make me second guess myself.. LOVE the kids in togas, that looks so fun!
I want a hellhound.
after studying greece and rome, one of our 7th grade social studies teachers always does the olympics but in a funny way. like the pencil toss instead of javelin. and tortilla toss instead of discus. really fun.
Wow! You homeschool your kids AND run Little Alouette? (And do a thousand other things, I'm sure.) I'm very impressed. This looks like such a fun day!
Ironically, we've been studying The Greeks this week (in homeschooling) and I think they might be the most memorable thing we've learned all year. :)
Even though I learned all about them in college through a very passionate professor, I fell back in love with the stories all over again these past few days. They are kind of like Bible stories but naughtier!
And even better that you are teaching them outside of school. You are such a great mom, Amy!
