Go to the east village, baby and get the BESTEST pizza in the WORLD at Artichoke Pizza at 328 14th st. bet. 1st and 2nd Ave. They also have cauliflower fritters, flat meatballs on a stick, broccoli raab sammiches....oooooh to die for homemade goodness. No place to sit but a counter so it's eat on the go style. But there's so much to see in NYC there's no time to sit!

Fifth Ave holiday windows! Stark at Saks and work your way up to the Park. Bendel's and Barney's are not to missed (oh yeah and Bergdorf too - all the Bs).

If you like ice skating, the rink at Rockafeller Center is touristy - but fun for that. Even just to watch the skaters for a few minutes and take pictures in front of the tree.

If you're on your own (or with women - or fashiony men - or men with a lot of patience...) - it's also fun window shop along 6th ave where all the jewelry and notions sources are located. Lots of sparkly things in windows. Of course I can't remember how high up they are...somewhere in the 100s...but a NY friend would probably be able to tell you.

If you want restaurant suggestions, let me know. I have a friend there who is always in the know about that.

Have a great time!

Empanada Mama's in Hell's Kitchen and totally walkable from Times Square. Two words: fig and cheese. OMG my mouth waters just typing about them.

If you're bringing your kids, check out MommyPoppins.com before and during your travels. Invaluable.

It has been far too long since I lived there, but I think that Pearl Paint on Canal street should still be lovely and crazy.

I was a vegetarian back then and loved Zen Palate. There is only one left, but the menu still looks tasty.

Enjoy, I wish I could go, or live there again.
