But now and again i lose sight of the good life/ i get stuck in a low

getting older, originally uploaded by turnsharp.

35 looms like right round the corner and I must take these cute glasses that I really only got because of a kick ass vision package and the look of black turtlenecks paired with two toned Mui Mui frames and now I must really wear them

sometimes my eyes go all gobblygoo when I write and so I put these on and it's much better

It's like admitting defeat.

concealer, spanx, push up demi cups, & specs
Don't tell me what is next

Defeat? Are you crazy? Wearing glasses because your vision sucks is the sign of a real writer! Nice glasses.

i'm in love with your last two posts.

your writing, when so rushed and real, is an absolute whirl of wind in my hair.

plus sun and convertible and beach up ahead.

love it.

First of all, I love that photo of you. Second, 35 looms around the corner for me too (next month) and it is the first *number* I have had a problem with. On my more enlightened days, I try to think of it this way: We are lucky to reach that, and even higher, numbers. We all know those who weren't lucky enough to see 35. SO, bring it on! That's how I'm going to try to think of it. Plus, some of my friends tell me it's the best year for a woman. We shall see. xoxo

Amy! You're making me feel old. I turned 36 in April. But you know - it doesn't bother me too much. Aside from some wrinkles that I'm battling with amazing infomercial products - I look far better now than I did for most of my twenties. And I have much more confidence. That automatically makes you feel younger.

Not defeat. Gorgeous and real. Real gorgeous women wear Spanx, too. At least, I keep telling myself that.

You're already dyeing your hair, right? Cause I would bet that grey hair comes next, but what do I know? I became a 'real' writer at 7, with my first pair of blue plastic glasses. Ooh, so octagonal, so chic!

you look fabu (and you know it!)

Glasses only make us look wiser, and smart mama's are the hotness, right? That's what I tell myself.

You're gorgeous, sexy, cool as hell and it shows... OWN IT!

Snap out of it girlfriend...40 is coming and it is the best years of a woman's life! I'm 45 and have never felt better anytime in my life. Mentally it all falls together and the self confidence gells and even if our boobs are falling, we tend to not give a poop because our brains are suddenly so in tune. It's life-chin up and stop worrying. Wear your sunblock daily to help your face and take your vitamins and exercise. That's all you can do.
Hugs...
Em

I'm so glad I checked back! I usually don't - so I must be psychic.

I use Cindy Crawford's "Meaningful Beauty".

Honestly - I could elaborate on the skincare - but I wrote a whole confessional post about it about a month or so ago: http://www.thebigpieceofcake.com/2008/10/do-you-find-meaning-in-beauty.html

All details and links can be found there. As of today - I like it and I think it helps. But like I said - I don't really know if any other products would be just as good... Sometimes I think it's all in our heads. And of course - I've been brainwashed by Cindy Crawford - so that probably counts for something.

I think you look hot! I really need to wear my glasses more, too. But I don't think it is so much age holding me back, as much as the fact that the more I wear them, the more I need them. I don't like that feeling.

i was just talking with randy about this last night -that at some point i'm going to have to get glasses. i know it will be a weird moment for me.

anyway, what i really came on here to say is: you are gorgeous.

I think you look great.
This aging thing must be going around. I just did a rather weepy about-to-be 40 (in 3 years) post on my own blog a few days ago.

Never fear. There's safety in numbers.
