You were bigger and brighter and whiter than snow

We are planning our little staycation at grandma and papa's house this weekend. We are going to stay about four days down in the deep woods as daddy works on a big project. We think we might sleep out under the stars and visit our old town and go creekin'. We have friends to visit and great grannies to hang out with and old haunts to frequent. We are going to learn to bake a cobbler and shop in thrift stores untouched by hipsters. I will probably drive a tractor at some point. I cannot wait.

Finn and I are going to explore the scary old summer kitchen on my parents land. It is a dirt floor small structure that has all sorts of junk in it, but we are convinced there might be some treasure too. I think I was always afraid of the summer kitchen as a girl. I think bees lived in it and it was dark. I am not afraid anymore.

How fun! How exciting! What a grand exploring-type adventure!

And you will have Finn to protect you.

PS: Do you know the words to EVERY song?! Aren't all of your post titles a song lyric?! I never know what they are from - I just know I love them.

Love the thrift stores untouched by hipsters. I remember buying vintage stuff back when it was actually cheap.

Thanks for the kind words earlier today. Eleanor is fine. Must have been the fluids she got last night. She was like a new girl this morning.

Ooh, have a fun staycation.

Your treasures were a big hit at our EOR board meeting--well be adding them to the EOR store later this week.

Thanks, dollface!

Your posts make me want to spend a day with you. Maybe a few days. This sounds like a great way to spend the weekend. While I'm stuck in a stuffy theater, I'll be dreaming of tractors and treasure.

i can't believe you used "pictures of you" as the title of this post! it was my favorite song when i was 14 and has been popping up lately out of nowhere... twice on the radio this week and now your post title. i love it! thanks for adding to the magic. i hope your staycation is lovely- sounds like you are well on your way to a beautiful time.

best wishes.

That looks like so much fun! I hope you find lots of small treasures in the summer kitchen. I love looking through old places that are untouched for several years.
