You can see, you can see light

It is like when there is no underwear clean in the house
and my husband tries hard not to mumble as he plods on commando to work
and like when there are lots of ingredients in the pantry but non match
It is like when the floor is crunchy underfoot
and the ginormous piles of might be clean laundry on the wooden floor
mock to the empty pine drawers
It is like if someone were to pop in unannounced today I might die
It is like that always when my creative self is trumping my reality self
At least the children are happy
wild
but happy
and the husband still holds me tight
at night
it's OK
right?

Get me delivered to yr email xo

It's Okay! IT'S OKAY! IT'S OKAY!!!!

I shout for emphasis, so that I can hear too.

In the end, what will be the things that matter? That the dishes are done, or that you lived and played and created?

It's totally ok. Though it sounds as though you could use an extra pair of hands at least for a day.

I liked this post so much that I tried to Kirtsy it. But it was too complicated for me. Maybe I'll try again later. But know that I tried. I really, really tried. And it's the thought that counts, right?

It is TOTALLY ok (and that's for me too since I *had* the unexpected visitor today. and i think she was ok with my unflushed toilets and lineup of bottles for my greywater system combined with 17000 toys on the floor and piles of clean laundry. You know, sometimes when I have the impromptu visit in the midst of total chaos I breathe a sigh of relief cause then at least the facade is gone (that I give two shoots about the chores).

confessing that Joe goes commando is prize worthy, in fact, I think this is a great start to an essay for NPR...go for it!

So so ok!

Of course this coming from a woman who ran out of milk this morning. Mind you, I have no job, no responsibilities, and I still ran out of milk.

it's most definitely ok friend. sometimes it's just...well, chaos. such is the beauty of life i suppose. makes you better appreciate when it's all in order.

I can't find my blog said...

When did you sneak in and take a pic of MY house? I would have at least offered you a glass of wine, or something!

rooms like this can always be cleaned. that takes very little skill.

but making your boys' childhood magic? that takes very big skill.

sure it's okay..sometimes you do have to let the house go. once in a while i do, but since i'm neat by nature, i eventually have to get cleaning, but yeah...let the house go and go out and play.
