But lately I've been thinking that it may be the kids. Wanting more of their childhood makes it seem to move even faster. We want them to grow and thrive, but we don't want to give up the perfection of "right now." The future is shiny and pretty to look at, but the present is real and sticky and so firmly planted in our hearts that the idea of change can cause actual physical pain. So we hope for the future and pine for the past and cling to right now knowing just how fleeting it all is.

Hoping you get many moments of blissful pause in 2011.Kate Coveny Hoodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18006589284938683965noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16163902.post-51420867986624846482010-12-29T15:33:05.001-08:002010-12-29T15:33:05.001-08:00Amy, This is very beautiful and I think the same t...Amy, This is very beautiful and I think the same thing a lot... Of course I am older than you are, but I just get such a sick stomach sometimes at how time flies... With Stephanie no longer living here all, it is just so strange. Then she gets homesick and I want to just say- come home. But I can't... She is living her life. It does fly so fast... Sit down as often as you can because as good as a mommy and all I gave, I still sometimes wonder if I did enough. Life is truly so fleeting and I feel the fear in my mother now she is over 60 at how much longer. Anyhow, I love the way you see things and write! :)vincenthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01518837862072891054noreply@blogger.com
